About Dara

Written by Tahnya, who built this the way she wishes it had existed six years ago.

Who I am

I’m Tahnya Brown. I’m a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) through the International Coaching Federation, and I’ve spent the last six years as a family caregiver. Not as a job. As a daughter, figuring it out in real time, wrong turns and all.

The whole system assumes you already know how it works. It doesn’t. It assumes you have time to sit on hold for two hours. You don’t. It assumes someone will hand you a plan. Nobody will.

I built Dara because the day I needed something like this, it didn’t exist. So I made it, using what I’ve learned coaching families through crisis and what I’ve lived through myself.

What Dara does

You tell Dara what’s happening. Dara gives you back three things: the one thing that matters most right now, a specific next step, and real local resources so you don’t have to Google in the middle of a crisis.

It’s not a chatbot in the venture-capital sense. It’s decision support for people who don’t have time to become experts.

What Dara is not Dara is not medical advice. Dara is not legal advice. Dara is not a replacement for a doctor, an attorney, or a social worker. It’s a starting point to help you find your footing and know what to ask next.

What happens to what you share

Your typed situation and Dara’s response to you are not stored anywhere. They’re processed to give you an answer and then discarded. Nobody, including me, reads them.

The only personal information I keep is the email address you enter at the start. That also gets you The Reprieve, my weekly newsletter, real caregiving stories and one clear thing to focus on each week. Consider it a bonus for showing up. Unsubscribe anytime.

I do keep anonymous usage counts: how many people started a session, which stage they picked, whether they clicked a resource. No names, no IPs, no message content. This helps me see what’s working and what to improve.

Full details are on the privacy page.

Who this is for

Adult caregivers. Sons and daughters figuring it out for their parents. Spouses navigating decline. Anyone who’s been handed a situation they didn’t choose and doesn’t know where to start.

If that’s you: I see you. This is for you.

Dara is early. If something feels off, or if there’s a resource I’m missing, tell me directly: hello@tahnco.com. I read every note.
